Once you have registered with your preferred centre they will organise your student log in to the Digital Cre8or main website. Your centre will support you and help you to develop your digital media skills through the classroom environment. Once you have been set up you can log on to the site anytime – and you don't have to use the same computer. You will save all your creations, as you progress, so when you log on you can access them anytime – so you can choose to work on your projects whenever you want. In fact you can even download lessons to your iPod or MP3 player.
As you progress through the course we will show you examples of what you are aiming to achieve, to help you check your own understanding as you go along. Whoever you are learning through, the content has been designed to help you go at your own pace and your tutor will help you with any queries.
Digital Creator is made up of 8 different units and you can choose to do either all 8 units or just 4. For further information about the units / modules please go to the Structure page.

Digital Creator within Schools and Adult Education.
The pilot for Digital Creator has taken place in schools in different areas across Ireland, and has proven to be hugely popular with pupils and teachers alike.
All teachers/trainers will know that some pupils do not engage with traditional learning methods as well as others, and that these pupils often find it difficult to achieve good grades and express themselves appropriately. Imagine how much more they could get from their education if, instead of answering questions from workbooks, they could learn to create a podcast simulating a world war one radio broadcast in history lessons, or a digital video about climate change in geography.
This radical and relevant qualification can help inspire a new zest for learning in these students by building academic confidence and helping them to engage with their education and express themselves creatively.
Presented in manageable units, Digital Cre8or supports learners as they acquire detailed knowledge in bite-sized chunks, through enjoyable, creative activities and projects built into each unit. Digital Cre8or also helps the learner to develop skills such as, planning, problem-solving, collaboration and literacy. Registered candidates are provided with access to comprehensive courseware that includes illustrated texts, software, and sample media. Each unit also explains issues of copyright, intellectual property and health and safety considerations.
Downloadable software information sheet. The software information sheet is intended as a guide to software that can be used to deliver the Digital Cre8or Program. This software listed can be used on a PC or MAC, i.e. the software is easily and readily available for all computer platforms. We understand that you may already have your own software installed and that's fine. This list is just to guide trainers/teachers where necessary. Please note, that where, possible this list makes recommendations for free downloads of software.
